Because I had this thought today and couldn't remember what I had said before...
Cathryn (and anyone else this may apply to), I would suggest for you, since you seem to want to try cloth diapering and I get the impression Scott doesn't so much, to try the diapers Allie is using. They're a super good price for those diapers. The great thing about pocket diapers is you can stuff them with whatever you want. I stuff mine with my prefolds. They tend to hold more fluid then the inserts mine came with. And those diapers are so much like normal diapers that Scott might even be willing to try it. I would not use what we've been using if you want Scott on board and he's not even really wanting to try.
Allie - When you've used your diaper sprayer for a while (after it comes, if it hasn't), please let me know how you like it. I haven't been able to convince Ryan that it's worth trying one, but if I get convinced enough and show him a good price, he'll probably budge on that.
That is all.

I got mine for $20 on Ebay. A friend uses the same one and LOVES it. So far, ours hasn't stopped leaking so we haven't used it, but I think that's possibly because the toilet sucks, not the sprayer. We need to mess with it a bit and then I'll let you know how it goes :).
ReplyDeletePs, where do you get your prefolds? And, have you tried the Alva diapers?
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention I stuff diapers with a prefold and a flat. I got all of my flat diapers from Mandalay. They're pretty inexpensive.
DeleteDepends on the size. I got my newborn size from Mandalay (http://humanitarianproducts.com/, located in Ogden, Provo, and China). Theirs are not the nicest, but I think they're really a close second to the more expensive ones. If they had more than the one size, I would have gotten all of mine from them. If you're going to use them to stuff pocket diapers, that is what I would do is just get them from them. (The thing to remember with buying prefolds is they need to be washed a bunch before you use them. Mandalay won't tell you that. After they've been washed they're obsorbent.)
ReplyDeleteI got all the rest of mine from a local baby store. I was trying to remember the brand name, but I don't. Do not buy any from http://www.babybestbuy.com/. No good. Unless you're going to use them for burp rags. They'd be good for that. Sorry I can't remember the brand. I think most major brands that people talk about online will be pretty similar though.
Sorry for the novel. Don't know where that came from.
Okay. The microfiber that came in my Alva's works GREAT for day time, but at night time it leaks about half the time, so I need something better. I ordered some newborn Alvas with bamboo inserts in them though, and I'm super excited about those!
DeleteLet me know about the bamboo. I've been so curious about it.
